So initially upon install I had no problems with my Lexmark x5650 printer, but in the last few 3 to 4 months, I can't scan. It's been driving me bananas most recently as I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and drivers repetively, changed and changed back settings over and over again, and search forums endlessly to no avail. I'm even thinking of just purchasing a new printer altogether, as the headache from this one doesn't seem worth it even tho I've only had it since last Christmas.

I have a intel pentium D running Vista home premium 32 bit

I have automatic windows updates .

I can print.

I cannot scan.

I cannot copy through the lexmark productivity studio application, but I can directly from the printer.

If I select scan directly from the printer it just says 'downloading application list' but it never downloads.

When using the scan option from the Lexmark productivity studio, I receive an error which says 'scan was not successful.
